Today the Neiman Family has decided to launch our Andrew Michael Neiman Theater Arts Scholarship Fund to be hosted by the venerable, 103 year old Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis. We have been thinking and working on this for over a year; Andy left us almost 2.5 years ago.
It has been a tumultuous time for our family, as we learn to navigate our profound loss. With our world rife with wars, brokenness and incalculable loss for many, making a small, but measurable difference is the balm that helps us feel better.
While contributing to this fund in Andy’s Memory is small, compared to the enormity of world peace, it is our hope that giving to Andy’s Scholarship will add something positive to the life and world of the Scholarship Foundation students that are pursuing the theater arts, and as the starfish parable says, “It made a difference to that one”.
About the Andrew Michael Neiman Theater Arts Scholarship Fund
The family of Andrew (Andy) Neiman is pleased to create a scholarship to be managed by The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis in his memory. This newly created scholarship will be awarded up to $10,000 annually. Since Andy was devoted to the theater since he was a little boy, we know he would be thrilled to support a student who has a passion for the theater arts. One-time and recurring gifts can be made to the Andrew Michael Neiman Theater Arts Scholarship Fund online.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion and focus on the theater arts: acting, writing, directing, or behind the scenes set design. The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis will be responsible for the application and selection process, within the guidelines established by the organization’s board of directors.
The Neiman family (most likely Lainie Neiman, Andy’s Mother) would be delighted to meet this deserving student, if that individual would choose to learn more about Andy’s life.
We believe that this Theater Arts Scholarship would be exactly the kind of legacy Andy would love to leave with a deserving student every year. We are pleased that the scholarship will be administered by such an incredible, 103 year old organization as The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis.
The Andrew Neiman Celebration of Life
On Friday, June 25, 2021, hundreds of Andrew Neiman’s friends, family, and community gathered in the Clayton Ballroom of the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac while hundreds more joined via telestream to remember, celebrate, and mourn the life of Andy.
The full service is available to watch here.
Thank you to all of the many, many beloved friends and strangers who held Andy in such potent love.
